Since making 180 enlargements is costly I decided to present my Pedestrian Project as a video. Music by Federsel.
I work “intuitively”. In my case that means that I work on quite a few paintings at the same time and continue which each of them only when my bowels feel really sure about what to do with them. Some paintings are waiting already two years for that moment. So I am glad I declared two paintings “finished” yesterday. (“Art is never finished, only abandoned.” – the quote is attributed to both Leonardo and Picasso, without any proof that any of them ever said so), signed them and sprayed them with varnish.
One I called On Being Sane in Insane Places (after the Rosenhan experiment). I like it a lot, my persistent experimenting with less conventional painting tools (credit cards, rags, nails, cleaning brushes, beer caps) seems to pay off. The other one, Living Room, is more restrained and I don’t like it so much. But I would love to sell it. Anybody?
My entry for the Samorosti exhibition in Roxy/NoD. Opening 22nd of July, 7:00 PM.
There has been a long silence on this blog. For several reasons: no studio space, my day job at the Ateliér radostné tvorby, the Inventura Art Workshop (including the Jamming project in cooperation with Mirek Kaufman), graphic design work and other activities. Now I have a new studio and hopefully more time to paint. The results will be published on this blog.
Two exhibitions this past spring: the instalation “1-0-0: antidepressants are cool” and a presentation of my paintings in the former Muslim prayer room in Prague-Žižkov, at present (among other things) my studio.

installation “1-0-0 (antidepressants are cool)” at the Ukradená galerie, 24 may 2014, Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad, Prague-Žižkov
There is a nice picture of the vernissage with a better view of the instalation itself here.
Pictures of the exhibition opening here.
While preparing for my studio exhibition in did the finishing touch on two small pieces I started quite some time ago. In spite of the playfulness they contain references to the transatlantic slave trade, Milgram’s experiment, the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal and U.S.A. drone attacks.
